For a couple of year's I'd taken my Mini on the track at the annual MiniWorld action day at Castle Coombe, and the Mini Racing Festival at Mallory Park. These were often mad affairs when everyone went out together and it was a 'no holds barred' type of day. Spills aplenty, and you'd often get people in race cars passing you through chicanes. 'What's wrong with that?' I hear you cry. Well, nothing if you're racing, but these are meant to be tasters and a chance to try out you pride in joy in safety.
I've now done a couple of track days at Brands Hatch with easyTrack. It's the best way to see what your car can do in a reasonably safe way - i.e. there are no nutters coming the other way on the wrong side of the road! That said, there are occasionally some accidents - mostly minor things, but there are those rare times when someone puts it on the roof!
